GLOCK 19 Gen6: Familiar, Refined and Easy to Carry
The GLOCK 19 Gen6 keeps the familiar simplicity of previous generations while refining the areas that matter most, including the grip, trigger, slide and optic setup.
For me, the biggest difference comes down to how it feels in use. The size is comfortable, the grip fits naturally, and the slim profile makes it easy to conceal without sacrificing the feel of a larger pistol. It shoots comfortably and handles intuitively.
While every shooter has different preferences, the GLOCK 19 Gen6 has earned its place as my new everyday handgun.
Raising the Next Generation Outdoors
There’s something special about watching kids discover the outdoors and knowing those early memories can grow into lifelong traditions. At Lady Outdoor Lifestyles, we believe passing down a love for hunting, fishing and outdoor adventure starts by simply bringing kids along and letting them experience it for themselves.
That’s why DLM Leather stood out to us. What began with founder Shelby Martinez making a kid-sized duck call lanyard for her daughter has grown into a family-built brand offering outdoor-inspired clothing and gear for little adventurers. Their designs celebrate everything from ducks and fish to whitetails, turkeys and camo, while keeping comfort in mind for real-life days at camp.
Raising outdoor kids is not always picture perfect. It is muddy boots, snacks, missed naps, big questions and celebrating the smallest catch like a trophy. Those are the moments that help create the next generation of people who will love the outdoors, protect it and someday pass those traditions along.
Can we finally talk about women’s hunting clothes?
Women’s hunting pants have come a long way, but fit, durability and sizing still vary widely between brands.
Muddy’s TRX Women’s Pants missed the mark for us because of an awkward fit, while the Prois Pradlann Field Pant stood out for accommodating hips and thighs, offering extended sizing and providing serious protection in heavy brush. SITKA’s Cadence Pant delivers excellent lightweight performance and durability, though we’d still like to see more inseam options. First Lite’s redesigned Women’s 308 Pant shows that the company has listened to feedback by improving fit, expanding sizing and adding versatile features. KUIU’s Women’s Attack Pant also earns attention as a dependable, do-it-all option with stretch, ventilation and abrasion resistance.
The bottom line is simple: women need hunting pants designed for different body types, climates and hunting styles. Give us extended sizes, multiple inseams, thoughtful fit and options ranging from lightweight hot-weather pants to heavier cold-weather gear.
Women aren’t one-size-fits-all, and our hunting gear shouldn’t be either.
Akkar Back Country Magnum
The Akkar USA Back Country Magnum has become my go-to turkey gun because it is rugged, compact, well-balanced, and built specifically for the turkey woods. Its 24-inch barrels make it easy to maneuver in blinds, against trees, and through thick cover, while the 12-gauge platform handles 2¾-inch to 3½-inch shells and includes five extended choke tubes.
Small details like the green Cerakote finish, Mossy Oak Obsession stock, barrel-mounted beard ruler, and optic rail show that Akkar designed this shotgun with turkey hunters in mind. More importantly, it performs. I like the way it handles, the confidence of having a second barrel ready, and most of all, the way it shoots.
It is not overly complicated or flashy. It is a practical, thoughtfully designed turkey gun that is ready to get dirty and do its job.

Is the Glock 19 Gen 6 the Perfect Handgun for Women?
The Glock 19 has long been one of the most trusted handguns for concealed carry, home defense, and recreational shooting. But is the new Gen 6 a good fit for women? In our latest blog, we break down why choosing a handgun isn't about buying the smallest firearm, it's about finding one that fits your hands, your lifestyle, and your shooting goals.
The Glock 19 Gen 6 offers a balance of manageable recoil, reliable performance, and ergonomics that make it a strong option for many women. Its size allows for better control and faster follow-up shots than many ultra-compact pistols, while still being compact enough for everyday carry with the right holster. Why the Akkar Ladies Country Is an All-Around Shotgun for Women
Finding a shotgun that truly fits—and performs—is one of the biggest turning points for any woman stepping into shooting or hunting.
Too often, women are handed guns that were never designed for them. They’re too long, too heavy, or just slightly “off,” which leads to inconsistent shooting and frustration.
That’s where the Akkar Ladies Country shotgun stands out.
